Hearts took on RAF Lossiemouth in a GA Engineering cup tie at Raemoss Park. Hearts should have taken the lead in the first minute when Haltam made a hash of a clearance and left Nathan Sandison with an open goal but he hit the bar with his effort. Hearts continued to attack and Haltham denied Ryan Duncan. The Lossie goal was leading a charmed life and Duncan again should have scored after a McLeod corner but headed straight at Haltam. Lossie's only effort of note was a long range shot from McNicol which Bruce dealt with easily. Hearts continued to create chances and Glendining was next to try but he shot past, then neat interplay from McLeod and Duncan saw Haltam save fromMcLeod. Hearts could not get the breakthrough before half time.
Half time 0-0
Lossie, having survived the first half had a bit of belief about them and McNicol was'nt far away with a shot from 25yards. Hearts forced a couple of corners and Findlay had a chance but headed wide from a good position. Hearts eventually took the lead when Glendinning turned Sinclair and his cross was touched home by Scott McLeod to put Hearts 1-0 ahead. Lossie then equalised when slack defending saw Smith have a shot on goal and the ball somehow found a way past Bruce. Hearts now had a fight on and Shaun Cunningham was'nt far away with a lob from 30yards. Hearts subbed Wilby for Duncan and he should have scored when a cross found him in on goal but he hit a Lossie defender on the goal line. Hearts kept looking for the winner but RAF Lossie held out for a draw. It went straight to penalty kicks. Hearts won 3-1 on penalties with Jamie Clark, Shaun Cunningham, Danny Glendinning all scoring. Lossie missed three spot kicks with Scott Bruce pulling off a great save from Girvan's penalty.
Full time 1-1
